As we celebrate Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince Zamani on his 31st birthday, we are looking back at some of his achievements from 2010 to 2017.

Below are ten reasons why the rapper is The Real Deal…


1. He rose to fame after releasing “Oleku”, one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs of all time.

2. During an interview with Adeola Adeyemo, Ice Prince was asked to summarise his story. The rapper had to shed some light on his then record deal with Chocolate City, saying: “My record deal with Chocolate City came off of my affiliation with M.I. and Jesse Jagz. We are pretty much brothers, we’ve always lived together, always been together.

M.I., Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince started the Choc Boi movement.

3. He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour. And some of his achievements include one BET Award, one Ghana Music Award, three Headies Awards, two Nigeria Entertainment Awards and two Channel O Music Video Awards.

4. He has given us timeless hits such as Superstar, Aboki, Boss, VIP, Jambo, Whiskey, That Could Be Us among others.

5. His third album titled “Jos to the World” was released on October 28th. It will be his third album since releasing his first album ‘Everybody loves Ice Prince’ in 2011.

6. Ice Prince has a son named Jamal with Bimbo Babatunde. In an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, the rapper said he dated Eva Alordiah when he first relocated to Lagos.
