Here are the 10 best Afro beats music videos that were released this week.

In this list, we present the best music videos from Africa’s thriving afrobeats/hip-hop artists released so far in the last week. It’s a stellar line up of some truly impressive visuals.

10. DNA – ‘Queen’

DNA’s ‘How Can’ might just be in the category for best song of the year come Decemeber 2017 with the buzz around the song, The duo stepped up once again with the release of Don Jazzy produced record “Queen”.

The visuals was shot and directed by American director Garth Von Glehn.

9. Shatta Wale – ‘Life Changer’

Hitting the no. 9 list is SM4LYF Records boss and dancehall act – Shatta Wale.

The singer comes through with the official music video for his single “Life Changer” and the video was directed by Rex.

8. Aramide – ‘Jowo’

Baseline artist Aramide, dropped the video for her recently released single “Jowo“, produced by SizzlePRO.

The video was shot in Abeokuta, Ogun state and was directed by Aje Film Works.

7. M.I. ‘You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives’

One week after releasing a song criticising fellow rappers, M.I. Abaga put out a video for the controversial ‘You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives’.

The song has since elicited counter-criticisms and responses from a few rappers.

Although the video was uploaded on YouTube Friday, October 27, it is still one of the most talked about song/video of 2017.

The visuals was directed by Clarence Peters.

6. Cassper Nyovest ‘Baby Girl’

South African rapper and arguably the hottest name in rap in Africa – Cassper Nyovest premiered the official music video for his single “Baby Girl” taken off his 2017 album “Thuto”.

The funky hip-hop song sees Tanzanian superstar Vanessa Mdee as the lead vixen in the video.

5. Dice Ailes – ‘Otedola’

On the top 5 list is Dice Ailes‘ latest release, “Otedola”, – it expresses the lavish lifestyle of the Young , Rich & Famous.

The cars – girls – fashion – money are all elements of Wealth & Lifestyle that are very visible in the video.

The video was directed by Tee Tash.

4. Becca feat. Kofi Kinaata – ‘Don’t Know’

Earlier today, Ghanaian songstress Becca dropped the official visuals for one of the songs off her just released “Unveiling” album, titled “Don’t Know”.

This bouncy afropop tune features young rap sensation Kofi Kinaata.

The video was directed by Director Abass.

3. Big Shaq – ‘Mans Not Hot’

Yes, we know this song shouldn’t have made the list, but the creator of “The thing go skrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrra… pap-pap-pap-pap-pap”, Big Shaq hit us with the official music video for his hit song ‘Mans Not Hot’.

Born Michael Dapaah to Ghanaian parents, Shaq saw a rapid growth in public attention when he appeared on Charlie Sloth‘s BBC Radio 1Xtra show Fire In The Booth. His comedic rap “Man’s Not Hot” developed into a viral meme, and a studio track version of the song was released on 22 September 2017.

This song is currently the wave of the moment across the world – reaching a whooping 22 million views in 9 days.

2. Mayorkun – ‘Che Che’

Although released earlier today, Davido Music Worldwide pop star, Mayorkun triumphs on the ear-worm mid-tempo tune for “Che Che” – produced by Kiddominant, it arrives after the mammoth-sized success of his last single “Mama“, which is still causing a frenzy across Africa.

“Che Che” impacts with an eye-popping visual and it’s only a matter of time before fans get a hang of it.

1. Tiwa Savage ft. Wizkid & Spellz – ‘Malo’

This has got to be the most anticipated Nigerian music video in the last three months.

Shot in the iconic and ancestral home of Afrobeat, Fela’s Shrine, the video was shot in soft hues in a party setting.

‘Ma Lo’ is from the Tiwa Savage’s recently released EP entitled ‘Sugarcane’. Described as “short and sweet”- it received a major hype from British rock band Coldplay.

Tiwa Savage is one of seven Nigerian artistes — Maleek Berry, Mr Eazi, Davido, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Wizkid — vying for the best African act category at the upcoming 2017 Mobo Awards.
