Felabration PHOTOS: How thousands converged outside the New Afrika Shrine


To Afrobeat purists, Felabration is an annual festival to celebrate Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti and ambience of the New Afrika Shrine, but not many have the all the power for the mad rush to enter and wherewithal to survive the hours spent inside.

The photos below depict the last day of ‘Felabration 2017: The Prophecy’, and while hundreds are queued up to get into the jam-packed venue, thousands are outside drinking scooches, smoking, and enjoying the scenery — content enough to be present, even if not inside.
