Cardi B has finally revealed what sparked her fight with Nicki Minaj at New York Fashion Week last month.
The two US rappers’ long-running feud came to a head when they got into a huge argument at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons event where they were both in attendance.
Cardi, who gave birth to daughter Kulture in July, was left with a huge bump over her eye and a torn dress.
She was also filmed throwing one of her shoes at her rival before being escorted out of the star-studded party.
Now, the 25-year-old has opened up about the brawl in an interview with W Magazine.
“For a while now she’s been taking a lot of shots at me,” Cardi said. “I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going.”
Cardi adds what really sparked the fight was Nicki, 35, allegedly liking and unliking a tweet that suggested she was a bad mother.
“I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter,” Cardi went on. “I love my daughter. I’m a good-ass f**king mum. So for somebody that don’t have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block.”
Shortly after their bust-up, Cardi also took to Instagram to accuse Nicki of liking comments disparaging her skills as a mother.
Nicki eventually responded during an interview with Queen Radio.
She said: “You’re angry and you’re sad and I really, this is not funny and this is not about attacking. This is about get this woman some f*****g help.
She added: “You put your hands on certain people you gon die. PERIOD. And y’all sitting here making this s**t a joke? I’m not the b*****s in the strip club and I’m not a b***h on a reality show. My money is very f*****g long.”
The star also said she was mortified by the attack and insisted that she would never speak ill of Cardi’s baby.
